PURCHASING POLICY

At ASM, efficient purchasing is implied as giving maximum service to the ship at minimum expense to the owner. The parameters for this are correct quantity, quality, price and delivery time, and its efficiency is premised on close coordination between the vessel staff and the office.

The company policy is based on fair and ethical practices, which further maximize cost benefit by volume business; it believes in an ongoing dynamic improvement process. It also has a transparent tendering and appraisal process with no fear or favor to any party.

Above all, ASM is fully aware of its corporate social responsibility.

The company believes that regular and accurate inventory control is the key to effective cost saving. No order/purchase of stores or spares is made without written requisition. Exception to this are purchases of provisions, ship's bonded stores or urgent store requirements for which prior approval of the office has been sought.
